Charity Projects - November 2007
Since the weather has gotten colder … the charity committee as been out delivering our "made with love" donations so they'll be in good hands for the holiday season:

Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, Emergency Room...... 30 bears
CASA of Franklin Co. (Social Services)............................ 15 bears, 8 sweaters, 16 hats, 15 quilts,18 pairs small mittens, 8 pairs large mittens
Franklin Health Care Center (for Rehab)........................... 8 quilts
Franklin County Family Resource Center........................... 5 large quilts, 6 sweaters, 21 hats
Franklin County Social Services (Foster Care)................... 50 Christmas stockings, 20 hats, 7 quilts, 10 small bears, 11 pillow pals, 2 scarves, 22 pairs mittens, 3 hat & mitten sets, 6 hand-knitted sweaters
Step Inc. (Head Start Program for Franklin Co)................. 50 Christmas stockings, 9 quilts

The committee was very heart-warmed because of all the Christmas Stockings that have been received. It was wonderful to get them delivered early, so that the people stuffing them can get started and won't have to rush during the busy holiday season! Guess it truly pays to start early! If we get more, we'll call around and see if anyone else can use them.

Attention "Queen Bees'': If your Bee is looking for small projects … we'll be needing teddy bears that are already cut out, sewn together and ready to be stuffed at the February 2008 Charity Quilt In. Check out the Charity Projects table for hearts and labels for bears.

Just a note … if anyone has taken quilt tops home to quilt them for us and hasn't had time to quilt them, please bring them to the next meeting so we can find someone who has the time to get them completed.

Thank you for all your efforts on the charity projects … they really are appreciated by the community! We're always greeted cheerfully when we deliver the guild's donations … what a special warm, fuzzy feeling!!

Your Charity Committee … Irene Capps, Teena Livsey and Sandy Horan
