Quilts of Valor

Quilts of Valor made by members of the "Kept in Stitches" Bee

Many of our members have been working on "Quilts of Valor" to be given to our war-injured soldiers. It is our way of saying "Thank You" for all that they have done to keep this country safe.

In the Moneta area, Smith Mountain Lake Quilting and The General Store have been accepting donated blocks which are then assembled, backed, and quilted. The finished quilts are distributed to various veteran hospitals, such as, the VA Hospital in Salem and Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.

The Lake Quilters Guild has donated $100 to Smith Mountain Lake Quilting and the General Store to help defray the cost of batting and backings.
