When the designated Bee was unable to display at the August meeting, Beekeeper Eloise Vass came to the rescue. She brought her prize winning quilts and her granddaughters' quilts, too, for everyone to see. Eloise held a week long quilt camp at her home this summer that was attended by her two granddaughters and five other young girls. The girls ranged in age from 7 to 15. Her granddaughters, Whitney and Austin Vass, entered the quilts they made at camp in the West Virginia State Fair and both won ribbons. Whitney won a blue ribbon for her African-theme quilt and Austin won 2nd place for her Ranch Rail. At left, is Eloise with her prize winning quilt, "Joey's Sailing Adventures." The quilt was made using T-shirts. | |
