Lake Quilters Guild Quilt Show 2016

Quilt Show Chairpersons: Vicki Seekford and Lori Suon

Our 2016 Quilt show, "Celebrating Quilting 2016" was held on April 1st & 2nd at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, 40 Lakemount Drive, Moneta, Virginia. More than 160 quilts were on display and 520 attended the show (this includes paid attendees, children and volunteers). 81 volunteers helped make the show run smoothly. We are blessed to have so many talented members who happily share their quilts with everyone. Also we're grateful for all the volunteers who make it happen.

The 2015 Block of the Month quilts have been placed in a separate slide show (view below). They celebrate the 50 Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake. This a slideshow of all the 2015 Block of the Month quilts that were displayed at the quilt show. These quilts celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake. Each BOM participant individualized her quilt by adding personal photos and/or appliqué depicting favorite lake scenes. The instructor was Cindy Clark. She made four Anniversary quilts. One was donated to the SML Chamber of Commerce, and one was donated to the guild to be raffled at the quilt show (see below). More information and photos of Cindy's quilts, along with this slidewhow, can be accessed from the Block of the Month page. Close the slideshow window to return to this page.

Lake Quilters Guild Quilt Show 2014

Our 2014 Quilt show "Quilting: A Living Legacy" was held on April 4th & 5th, 2014. It was co-chaired by Vicki Seekford and Lori Suon. More than 175 quilts were on display and over 509 people attended the quilt show. More than 80 volunteers helped make the show happen. Of course, the real heros are the many members who displayed their quilts.

This is just a sampling of the many quilts on display. Information has been added to the slideshow photos that identifies the winners of the Viewer's Choice Awards. My apologies to Linda Pote and Joyce Noell who had additional winning quilts that did not appear in this slideshow. Also, Bette Gove's entry in the Rainbow Quilts tied for 2nd place in the quilt show viewer's choice. The other Rainbow winners are the same as the winners that appear on the 2013 Rainbow Challenge page.

Quilt Show Raffle Quilts. Cindy Clark produced two quilts for the quilt show raffle. The quilts were on display at The General Store, then traveled to The Quilting Connection and to The Crooked Stitch. Raffle tickets were available at the quilt show and prior to the show from LQG members.

"Garden Bloom" was won by Stephanie Schaefer.

"Rainbow with a Twist" was won by Nancy Robbins.

Both winners are Lake Quilter's Guild Members who sold (and purchased) lots of tickets.
