Lake Quilters Guild Quilt Show

LQG Quilt Show is held every two years. Our next quilt show will be in 2010.

Quilt Show 2010 - "Our Quilted Treasures"

The 2010 Quilt Show, "Our Quilted Treasures," will be held Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27, 9:30am to 4:30pm at Trinity Ecumenical Parish. See Flyer.

Raffle Quilt: The raffle quilt, Midnight in Bloom, has been completed and raffle tickets are now being sold by members. Click here to view the Raffle Quilt.

Entering a Quilt? - You must be a member. We will have 7 categories for the viewer's choice awards this year. There will be cash prizes for 1st-3rd places of the viewer's choice.You can put anything in the show that has not been in one of our shows before. There will not be a limit, unless we run out of room, but there will be a March 1st deadline for entries. Registration forms will be handed out in January and February. Or, here is an online Registration Form for you to print and turn in. You must drop off your quilt entries Thursday, March 25 at Trinity Church by 11am. Marnie at SML Quilting will be a drop-off point if you can't make it to the church on Thursday.

Also, we are collecting books, patterns, sewing tools, etc. These prizes are for those of you who help with any part of the quilt show. You can give these items to either of the Joyces.

Quilt Show Door Prizes: We need quilted items for door prizes, such as table runners, placemats, etc., purses, tote bags and even small wall hangings. Contact Katherine Lewis: kaky41@yahoo.com

Raffle Quilt Committee: Serving on the committee are Sharon Pafford, Chairman, Carol Beisser, Pat Blice, Helen Buchanan, Cindy Clark, Betty Hatfield, Jean Hensley, Jean Hutson, Janie Lawless, Cyndy Mitchell, Terry McNichol, Susan Palmer, Linda Pote and Hallie Rudi. The quilt label was made by Melissa Hizy and the quilting was done by Cindy Clark. The flower applique border was done by Betty Hatfield, Karen Arends, Bette Gove, Kinza Pickelsimer and Cathy Maycock, who are members of the applique bee Stitches in Time.

Quilt Show 2008

Our 2008 Quilt Show "The Art of Quilting" was held at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, Moneta, April 4-5, 2008. Over 200 quilts and wearables were displayed. Special displays included antique chatelaines, quilted items made by our quilting bees and charity items made by guild members. The show drew 492 visitors.

The Grand Door Prize was the Jamestown 400th Anniversary Quilt made by our 2007 Quilt-in-a-Year instructors. Michelle Smith of Vinton won the drawing. View the quilt.

Quilt Show 2006

The 2006 Quilt Show, "FOR THE LOVE OF QUILTING," was held at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, Moneta, Virginia, March 24-25. Almost 200 quilted items were on display. The show also offered free demonstrations, hourly door prizes, and a quilt raffle. Click on the links below to see a sampling of photos of the event.

Winners of the Viewer's Choice Awards

Sandra Ferguson reports that 685 people attended the quilt show and over 120 members participated in some way. Many favorable comments were heard were heard from the visitors, and an added bonus to the excellent attendance was that the Hospitality Committee from Trinity Parish made enough money selling lunches to purchase the freezer they've been wanting.
