May 2018 General Meeting.
May Slideshow. Our guest speaker was Marietta Price, owner of Bargain Barn Fabrics in Montvale, VA. Marietta She spoke on "Accessorizing Your Quilts." She showed us how to dress up our bed quilts by using coordinating pillows and shams. She also showed us sample pieces from classes offered by Bargain Barn Fabrics. Cecily-Sue Roth taught an all-day workshop on Monday entitled "Simple Steps to Beautiful Rag Quilts." The program was followed by Show & Tell and the featured Bee of the Month was Southside Bee. April 2018 General Meeting.
April Slideshow. Our guest speaker was Paula Golden. She taught an all day workshop on Monday entitled "Binding Basics" and on Tuesday provided us with a trunk show lecture entitled "How to Make your Quilts Sing." Our quilts will be more vibrant if we remember to use lights, darks, and shading in each quilt. We also announced the quilt show winners and awarded prizes to the winning quilt makers and our volunteers. March 2018 General Meeting.
March Slideshow. Our guest speaker was Suzzie Schuyler. She taught an all day workshop on Monday entitled "Halftime Event" and on Tuesday provided us with a "Sports Related" Trunk Show. February 2018 Annual Charity Sew-in.
February Slideshow. From 9am-2pm members worked on charity items. This year the main focus was on Teddy bears. It was also the Guild's 28th Anniversary! January 2018 General Meeting
January Slideshow. Our program was "Ready, Set, Sew! New Ideas for a New Year!" Four of our talented members shared their quilting expertise with us. The program was followed by Show and Tell. December 2017 Christmas Luncheon
December Slideshow. We thoroughly enjoyed a catered lunch by Gabor Bede at Trinity Ecumenical Parish. We viewed and voted on the 2017 Challenge Entries. We also inducted our 2018 Officers. November 2017 General Meeting
November Slideshow. Our November Guest Speaker was LQG Member Rose-Marie Newcomb. Rose-Marie presented a trunk show that showed us all the many things it's possible to do with a sewing machine. She has many years of experience teaching for Sulky Thread, and at quilt shops and other guilds. The program was followed by Show and Tell. The Bee of the Month was "Let It Bee." October 2017 General Meeting
October Slideshow. Our October Workshop and Program were led by LQG Member Cecily Sue Roth. The Monday workshop was "Wool Embroidery" and our program was a trunk show entitled "What Inspires You." September 2017 General Meeting
September Slideshow. Our September Workshop and Program were led by Susie Jacobs. The Monday workshop was "Intermediate Machine Stitching" and our program was a trunk show of Susie's many and varied quilts, all of which are inspirational. The program was followed by Show and Tell. August 2017 General Meeting
August Slideshow. Our August Workshop and Program were led by Cheryl Lynch. The Workshop was "Mini Mosaics" and our program was "Turning Travel into Treasures." July 2017 General Meeting
July Slideshow. The July meeting was our member led Round Robin. There were five stations and five leaders. Each leader presented a different quilting technique. Members moved to a different station at 10 minute intervals. The Round Robin was followed by Show and Tell. There was no Bee of the Month display. June 2017 General Meeting. There was no June meeting due to Vacation Bible School.

May 2017 General Meeting
May Slideshow. Our guest speaker was Gyleen Fitzgerald whose presentation was "Quilts: Unfinished Stories with New Endings." Gyleen showed 1930's through 1950's unfinished tops and blocks that she transformed into finished quilts using fabrics of today. On Monday Gyleen lead a workshop entitled "Going In Circles." April 2017 General Meeting
April Slideshow. For our program Barbara Dann of Alleycat Quiltworks showed us the many quilt block variations that can be created using Studio 180 Tools and Rulers. On Monday Barbara led a workshop using the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star tool. Our Featured Bee of the Month was the Bag Ladies Bee. Barbara Dann's lecture was followed by Show and Tell. March Slideshow. We had a visit from SML Good Neighbors and then viewed a slide show on barn quilts presented by Suzi Parron. Parron is the author of two books on barn quilts. January Slideshow. Our January program was a trunk show provided by the Material Girls Bee. They have been a LQG Bee since 2003. They are a very productive group and continually challenge themselves to learn new techniques. Our Featured Bee of the Month was the River Queen Bee. The trunk show was followed by Show and Tell. December 2016 Holiday Luncheon
December Slideshow. We thoroughly enjoyed a catered lunch by Gabor Bede at Trinity Ecumenical Parish. We viewed and voted on the 2016 Challenge Entries. The beautiful centerpieces were provided by Kept-in-Stitches Bee and we each received an adorable Spool Christmas List favor made by Sue Berry and a fat quarter and mints from Stephanie and her husband. November 2016 General Meeting
November Slideshow. Sandy Miller presented us with a trunk show of the many quilts she has made over the past few years. Sandy is a guild member and also works in the Quilting Department at the General Store. Sandy especially enjoys making the Judy Niemeyer paper pieced patterns because they are so precise. October 2016 General Meeting
October Slideshow. Linda Hahn of Frog Hollow Designs led an all-day Monday Workshop - "Rock that Block, Juicy Lucy" and a half-day Tuesday Workshop- "Welcome to Our Pad." At our Tuesday Program she showed us her New York Beauty Quilts, Simplified and Diversified. The program was followed by member Show and Tell. (My camera went crazy temporarily at the start of Show and Tell, so I missed a few shots. So sorry.) The Featured Bee of the Month was the Piece Makers Bee. September 2016 General Meeting
September Slideshow. Joyce Duncan led a Monday Workshop on "Landscapes Beyond the Basics" and discussed "Inspirations for Landscape Quilts" at our Tuesday Program. This meeting was held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month instead of the usual 4th Tuesday due to church scheduling. The program was followed by member Show and Tell. August Slideshow. LQG member Susan Wilson conducted a Monday Workshop on the "Disappearing Hourglass" and discussed the pros and cons of rulers at our Tuesday Program. July Slideshow. This month was our Silent Auction. A big thank you to Katherine Lewis and the Shady Ladies Bee for making it happen. The Auction was followed by member Show and Tell. April 2016 General Meeting
April Slideshow. Our guest speaker and workshop leader was Kevin Womack. On April 25 he led a workshop entitled "Color Study." March 2016 General Meeting
March Slideshow. Our guest speaker and workshop leader was Cyndi Souder. Her lecture was entitled "It's OK To Write on Your Quilts." Those taking the workshop learned how to write on their quilts using free motion quilting. The program was followed by member Show and Tell. The Featured Bee of the Month was the Shady Ladies. February 2016 Annual Charity Sew-in
February Slideshow. From 9am-12pm members worked on charity items. This year the main emphasis was on bears for children in emergency situations. Karen Arends brought in the red and white 2016 Raffle Quilt for all to see close up. We also celebrated the Guild's 26th Birthday by sharing a beautiful cake.
