      December 2011 Holiday
      Luncheon.
      December
      Holiday Luncheon Slideshow. 104 members attended the Holiday
      Luncheon at Waterfront Country Club. Besides eating, we viewed
      and voted on the 2011 Challenge entries, honored all those who
      served the guild in 2011, conducted our annual ornament exchange,
      and presented our outgoing president with a signature quilt.

      November 2011 Meeting.
      November
      Slideshow. Our guest speaker was Neva Hart. Neva is an AQS
      certified Quilt Appraiser. Neva spoke on "How to Value and
      ADD Value to your Quilts." Neva's presentation was preceded
      by induction of 2012 officers and followed by member Show &
      Tell. The Featured Bee of the Month was Shady Ladies. (To

      Slideshow. Our guest speaker was Linda Cantrell. Linda's
      specialty is humorous pictorial appliqué. The afternoon
      lecture was "Appliqué...I Did It My Way." Linda's
      presentation was followed by member Show & Tell. The featured

      Slideshow. Our September speaker was Judy Loope who taught
      an innovative morning workshop on "Rust Stains" and
      "Heat Strokes" and gave an afternoon lecture and trunk
      show entitled "What Was I Thinking?" The presentation
      was followed by Show & Tell. There was no bee display this

      Slideshow. Our August speaker was Paula Golden who presented
      a slide show on the Quilts of Virginia. The presentation was

      Eight different "workshop" tables were available and

      spoke on "The Artist in You" and brought lots of her

      (TEP) brought items to show and sell. New officers were inducted,

      member Avis Withers presented our workshop and program
      on sewing machine needles, thread, and embroidery. This was followed
